The Brothers of Charity Services in Lancashire has various social enterprises for adults with learning disabilities; these services are designed to support people to develop skills with confidence in a supportive working environment whilst offering services into the local community.
The social enterprises carry out lots of great, fun activities for the people we support and the local communities to get involved with. Here you will be able to find out what each of the social enterprises have been up to this week.
The Walled Garden
It’s great to see The Walled Garden’s hanging baskets on display at customer’s homes. This customer is extremely happy with the basket and will be providing the team with a summer update when the baskets are fully blossomed.

Pets Corner in Astley Park, Chorley
There is lots of wonderful wildlife around Astley Park in Chorley. As well as the resident animals at Pets Corner, there is a number of bird boxes around Pets Corner to encourage nesting.
A Great tit has been spotted nesting in one of the bird boxes. The team have managed to capture an image of the bird returning to the bird box.

Roccoco
Last week, the team from Roccoco were extremely busy providing a High Tea Buffet for a wedding at the Royal Umpire in Croston.
The buffet included a mixture of delicious cakes and tart-lets for 60 guests. In the photos you can see the hard work that the team put in to make sure these tasty treats were all perfect and ready for collection. You can also see the cakes and tart-lets on display at the wedding.
It was great to see all the team working together and helping each other out to make sure that the order was completed in time.

Crafty Uniforms
James and Tina from Crafty Uniforms provided an amazing free craft session for groups of children at LivingWaters Church on Friday 2nd June. They helped everyone make dolls out of wooden pegs and spoons along with other crafty items.
Crafty Uniforms’ next free craft session will be held during the school summer holidays. The team can’t wait to see what creative crafts everyone can make!

Heaton Street Gardening
Now that summer has begun, the Heaton Street Gardening team have been working hard organising and tidying up customer’s gardens ready for them to enjoy the summer weather.
The team began working on a customer’s flower bed last week, it will be great to see what amazing flowers blossom in the flower bed throughout the summer.

Hands on Recycling
The team from Hands on Recycling are always dealing with a large amount of waste cardboard and paper on their recycling collections. All of the recycling is collected at the end of the week and then taken to a recycling plant where everything is processed to live its life again.
Did you know that each tonne of recycled paper and cardboard will save 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, 3 cubic meters of landfill space, 4000 KW of energy and 7000 gallons of water?
