The Care Quality Commission regulates all health and social care services in England. They check that services meet the government’s standards and rules about care, and that people get safe care from hospitals, care homes and other services that support them in their own home or in other places. The CQC also protect the rights of individuals who need extra support to stay safe, which includes people who are kept in care under the Mental Health Act.
