Honeybees have arrived onsite at Thingwall Hall!

Two beehives at Thingwall Hall have now been populated with a colony of honeybees in each, with an extra two colonies planned to be introduced to two other hives this weekend, by qualified beekeepers Andrew and Andrea.

We are encouraging beehives onsite because the Honeybee is sadly in decline but we can play our part in sustaining the Honeybee population by having the hives on our Thingwall Hall site. There is also the added bonus of getting some tasty honey in return! In addition to this, the bees will help to pollinate the flowers, shrubs, and the crab apple trees that we have on site.

There are plans to have eight beehives at the Thingwall Site and eventually we hope they will produce enough delicious honey to sell to our friends and neighbours!
