Aside from traditionally commissioned services the Brothers of Charity Services in England also has a robust community engagement programme which offers engagement programmes in partnership with local communities and marginalised societal groups, within the Lancashire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester regions, to respond to a range of socio-economic problems.
Despite the challenges of today’s ever-changing social, economic and political landscape, The Brothers of Charity Services in England’s Community Engagement Teams aim to channel resources, skills and assets on a local level to build stronger, healthier and happier communities and support people from marginalised backgrounds in making a meaningful contribution.
To date this has included initiatives in the following areas;
- Public Health programmes
- Community ‘clean-up’ initiatives
- Inter-faith partnership working
- Social isolation and community networking
- Voluntary work programmes
