Social Enterprise Blog 05/06/18

The Brothers of Charity Services in Lancashire have various social enterprises for adults with learning disabilities; these services are designed to support people and to develop skills with confidence in a supportive working environment  whilst offering services in the local community.

The Social Enterprises carryout lots of great, fun, activities for the people we support and the local communities to get involved with. Here you will be able to find out what each of the Social Enterprises have been up to this week.

Heaton Street

It may have been the Bank Holiday but the teams at Heaton Street Gardening were still busy providing regular garden maintenance to our customers! The grass always seems to forget about the Bank Holidays and continues to grow. We hope everyone enjoyed their day off and the beautiful weather!

Hands on Recycling

This time of the year is always very busy for us as a lot of our customers, such as garden centres, sell items for people to use outside such as furniture. Our teams really enjoy flattening the cardboard boxes left over from the furniture, getting it all ready to be stored for processing.

Hands on Gardening

The Bank Holiday didn’t stop the team at Hands on Gardening from working hard on a job in Mawdesley. They were cutting back and tidying a garden so that the customer can hopefully look after it themselves over the summer, after returning back to full health. Why not give the team a call if you would like any help with your garden.

Crafty Uniforms

Crafty Uniforms have a good selection of embossing boards in a variety of sizes. Pop in this week and see their range of arts and crafts materials! They are open weekdays from 9am to 4pm.

Why not treat yourself or a loved one to a handmade bracelet or handbag by Damion and Tina? Tina’s Gem’s bracelets are £1.50 each and Damion’s handbags are £2.00 each! Don’t miss out.

Pets Corner

Can you spot the rabbit? Caramel from Pets Corner, in Chorley, enjoyed being outside in the sun so much last weekend that she hid in a tunnel to stay out longer! Pop in this week and see what they’re up to!
