Social Enterprise Blog 09/11/18

The Brothers of Charity Services have various social enterprises for adults with learning disabilities; services are designed to support people to develop skills with confidence in a supportive working environment whilst offering services in the local community.

The social enterprises carryout lots of great, fun activities for the people we support and the local communities to get involved with. Here you will be able to find out what each of the social enterprises have been up to this week.

Pets’ Corner

Our team at Pets’ Corner would like to say a big thank you to everyone who joined us in the last week to take part in our Halloween activities! We hope you all had as much fun as we did.

We were so excited for the Fireworks and Bonfire at Astley Park. As usual our Kiosk at Pets Corner was serving soup made by Roccoco, Treacle Coffee and Honey Comb. They went down a treat!

Happy Bonfire Night! We hope everyone has an amazing time celebrating with family and friends! But don’t forget about how frightened your pets might be from the loud noises. For some advice about how to keep your pets calm and safe, watch this useful video from RSPCA. Click here to view video.

Pets’ Corners chickens have been tucking into a left over pumpkin; nothing has gone to waste from Halloween at our social enterprises. Pop in today to say hello; they’re open until 4pm.

Our teams at Hands on Gardening have recently come across lots of flowers still in bloom this late on in the season, bringing beautiful colours to our customers’ autumnal gardens. They’ve also noticed an abundance of mushrooms everywhere due to the hot summer months!
