The Brothers of Charity Services have various social enterprises for adults with learning disabilities; these services are designed to support people to develop skills with confidence in a supportive working environment whilst offering services in the local community.
The social enterprises carryout lots of great, fun activities for the people we support and the local communities to get involved with. Here you will be able to find out what each of the social enterprises have been up to this week.
Roccoco
Come along to Roccoco and enjoy their delicious homemade bacon and tomato quiche, served fresh every day. They’re open weekdays between 9:30am – 3:30pm.
National Cake Week is coming up soon (1st – 7th October) and to celebrate, Roccoco and The Marina Cafe, our social enterprise cafes in Leyland/Adlington are creating a special menu. They would like to know your favourite cakes to help create their menu so please let them know; we look forward to seeing your suggestions!
Roccoco are also celebrating British Food Fortnight with 2 weeks of delicious British dishes! Visit the team between 22nd September to 5th October to enjoy their special menu. Click here to view the menu.

Crafty Uniforms
It’s that time of the year again! Our Christmas crafts stock is now out in the shop. Visit the team at Crafty this week and check out all their festive goodies.
The team at Crafty Uniforms have recently been in contact with Home Start offering some items to help families in the local area. They have just received a lovely thank you letter from the charity for the donations, so thank you to everybody who has donated clothing and crafty items over the last few months! We always welcome any donations of Pre-loved Uniforms, and we always look to offer surplus stock to other charities such as Home Start. If you would like to donate your pre-loved school uniforms please drop them off at the shop! Any donations, small or large, are greatly appreciated.

The Walled Garden
The Walled Garden team has been busy growing fruit and veg and now they’re ready to sell! They currently have cucumbers, runner beans, courgettes and apples. Pop in this weekend to purchase some delicious produce from them!

Pets Corner
Caramel’s babies have certainly grown since our last update in August. Stop by over the weekend to say hello to these fluffy bunnies. They’re open Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 4pm.

Hands on Recycling
It may seem early but many of our customers are a;ready receiving their Christmas Stock which means lots of boxes and packaging for the team to recycle! If you need help recycling extra packaging this time of year, get in touch with Hands on Recycling by calling 07834480363!
The stormy weather has emphasised the importance to the Hands on Recycling team, of getting to their customers quickly and promptly, as many of their pickup points are outside, as wet and soggy cardboard and paper can be a hazard to handle or may even blow away in the wind which our teams have to chase after!

Hands on Gardening
The team at Hands on Gardening are teaching their teams the practical skills of machinery maintenance throughout the winter months and have started to plan a schedule of winter works to carry out repairs to the vans and equipment

Heaton Street
With the gardening season starting to slow down, Heaton Street will take the opportunity to organise different activities for the people we support, including sport activities with local leisure centres and are hoping to have football training, badminton and cricket sessions.
