Social Enterprise Blog 26/11/19

The Brothers of Charity Services have various Social Enterprises for adults with learning disabilities; the services are designed to support people to develop skills with confidence in a supportive working environment whilst offering services in the local community.

The social enterprises carryout lots of great, fun activities for the people we support and local communities to get involved with. Here you will be able to find out what each of the enterprises have been up to.

Roccoco

Chris, James and Michael enjoyed working together this week making corned beef pies at Roccoco; a tasty lunch for the winter months!

Visit our social enterprise in Leyland next week and enjoy a delicious lunch or treat yourself to a slice of homemade cake and a coffee; they’re open Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 3:30pm. 😀

Chris and Chris have been preparing some healthy treats for Network 50+’s lunch earlier this week. Network 50+ is an Integrated Retirement Service run by The Brothers of Charity Services, which offers coffee morning, lunch clubs and a full range of social, creative and educational activities for elderly adults with or without support needs.

One of our lovely team members at Roccoco, Andrew, is in charge of making the delicious biscuits that they serve alongside their hot drinks. Last week Roccoco sent some of Andrew’s famous biscuits to the Marina Café, our social enterprise in Adlington for customers to sample! They enjoyed the biscuits that much they they’ve requested for them to be sold there all the time!

Andrew is really happy with the fabulous feedback he received and will continue to make them for both The Marina and Roccoco!

The Walled Garden

Our team have been making use of the rain and have been removing the white wash from our glasshouse. We use white wash during the summer months to help control the temperature inside our glasshouse to protect our crops.

We have been enjoying the autumn sunshine, exploring our beautiful gardens collecting pine cones to use for our Christmas wreaths and bug boxes.

Crafty Uniforms

On the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month we will remember them. Our talented team have created this wonderful window display to commemorate Armistice Day. The red poppies represent the people we sadly lost at war; the purple poppies are to remember all the animals and white poppies signify peace!
