The Brothers of Charity Services in Lancashire has various social enterprises for adults with learning disabilities; these services are designed to support people to develop skills with confidence in a supportive working environment whilst offering services into the local community.
The social enterprises carryout lots of great, fun activities for the people we support and the local communities to get involved with. Here you will be able to find out what each of the social enterprises have been up to this week.
The Walled Garden
The team at The Walled Garden are well underway making beautiful hanging baskets ready for customers to collect in the next couple of weeks. If you would like a hanging basket, make sure you get in touch with The Walled Garden to place an order.

Upcoming events
The Walled Garden are going to be having a stall at the Lockstock Hall Spring market on Wednesday 17th May between 12pm – 5pm. The team will have a range of Hanging Baskets, pot/bedding plants and craft materials for sale. Make sure you come down and see what the team are up to.

Pets Corner in Astley Park, Chorley
The rabbits at Pets Corner have been out in the sun and enjoying their newly refurbished outdoor pens.
The team from Pets Corner along with the help from the Heaton Street Gardening team, began working on the pens in January. Since then they have added a variety of new features to make a better environment for the rabbits.

Roccoco
Roccoco have recently been featured on Granada Reports. Phil Burton, a former soldier has set up a café at Roccoco to help support Armed Forces veterans which is open on the first Saturday of each month and all veterans are welcome.
Daniel and Roccoco’s volunteer Mark are serving on the video and they did a great job!

Crafty Uniforms
The team at Crafty Uniforms have been busy providing craft sessions at Mencap. This week the team helped everyone make their very own personalised hats to be worn at their Hat and Wig Party. Everybody who got involved worked together to make some amazing hats.

Hands on Gardening
The team from Hands on Gardening have been busy completing a fencing job in Burscough this week. This has created a safe place for the customer’s grandchildren to play in and enjoy her wonderful garden.
Lewis has been working hard putting up a solid gate to ensure that the garden is secure.

Heaton Street Gardening
The team from Heaton Street Gardening regularly visit Baxi Heating to complete ground maintenance on site. Recently, they received some great feedback of the work they carried out from Becky at Baxi Heating.
“Our new Chief Executive Officer was very positive following his site visit last week, as was our Site Manufacturing Director. So many thanks to you and your team for all your hard work on the grounds maintenance at Baxi… It certainly has improved the look of the site.“

Hands on Recycling
It’s been a busy couple of weeks for the Hands on Recycling team recently. With the help of their amazing customers, they have managed to process an average of 3 tonnes of waste cardboard and paper each week! All of this recycling has now gone to live it’s life all over again.
The team working together to get the cardboard and paper processed as efficiently as possible.
