People we support, staff, volunteers and members of St. Theresa’s congregation gathered in The Chapel at Lisieux Hall on Monday 10th November to take part in the Remembrance Service.

The chapel, as usual, had a beautifully presented display boards filled with photographs of people who we had lost and we wished to remember, faces young and old, evoking memories of past times and relationships.

Everyone took the opportunity to stick a leaf, bearing the name of a person that they wished to remember, onto the Remembrance Tree, and these were all read out later in the service.

Andrew Kesiak, Pastoral Co-ordinator welcomed everyone and performed the music for us, and Nick Mansfield, minister from St. Lawrences’ church, Penwortham, led the service. Liz McClennan and Rebecca also took part in the service, while the pastoral volunteers, Honor, Michael and Sandra ensured that everything ran smoothly and did a wonderful job with the refreshments.

This is a time, as we remember those we have lost, we reflect on the lives they had lived and ponder on how we can enrich the lives of the people we support now, and that of our families.

At the end of the service, the chapel was filled with laughter and story-telling, and the presence of Staff and Volunteer’s Grandchildren reminded people that life continues with hope and love for the future.
