Five members of the landbase social enterprise team went on a short break holiday to the Calvert trust outdoor activity centre in Keswick, the group all took part in a number of activities these included archery, cycling and abseiling.

The group left Wednesday morning to head on up to Keswick for a spot of lunch by the lake side, the sun was out and the scenery was spectacular. We then left the lake to head for the activity centre to get settled into our rooms and meet the instructors. That evening we took part in the archery where we were taught how to hold the bow properly and how to fire the arrows.

The next morning after breakfast we went out to a disused airfield which is now a nature reserve to do the cycling activity, we rode around the reserve which consisted of all types of terrain and including a “HUGE” hill.

That afternoon we went to the abseiling activity it was a 100 foot rock face in which we all abseiled off the top with help and guidance from our instructors, the views were amazing.

After all the excitement we had time to chill out and unwind in the “games room” it had a bar, pool table, table tennis and a disco.
