The social enterprises carryout lots of great, fun activities for the people we support and the local communities to get involved with. Here you will be able to find out what each of the social enterprises have been up to this week.

Throughout the summer months at Roccoco, they will be serving a Ploughman’s Lunch! It will be served with Branston Pickle, pickled onions, a roll and butter, all for just £6.25. They are open weekdays from 9:30am to 3:30pm, why not stop by and enjoy this delicious dish for lunch!

Heaton Street

This warm weather is certainly making our customers lawns look very dry! Does your lawn look like this? It is important to water your lawns as you would do with your garden plants to keep it in tip top condition for the summer.

We have been very lucky recently with the weather but as you know this causes other problems in the garden. Have you ever thought about having a water butt fitted by our teams to catch rainwater from your pipes? Why not give the team at Heaton Street a call for more information?

We love a clever idea in the garden and anything to save time on awkward tasks. Check out this clever watering can which can be wheeled around the garden and picked up without bending down. It looks like the design is based on the shape of an elephant’s trunk!

Crafty Uniforms

Craft Uniforms recently held a competition to win sports tops for a local community group, club, team or school. We are happy to announce that our winner is Karen, who nominated St Gregory’s Primary School! The team presented the school with their donation of sports tops as well as a voucher for a family in need to spend at Crafty Uniforms!

Thank you to everyone who entered the competition, we look forward to holding more in the future!

The team at Crafty Uniforms have a great selection of single buttons; 20 small for £1.00, 15 medium for £1.00 and 10 large for £1.00! They also have packs of buttons from 20p; pop in and see what you fancy.

Hands on Gardening

Gardening tip: Did you know that you can reduce the amount of weeding needed in your borders by simply hoeing them on a regular basis? This helps to stop them from germinating and become established.

Wow last week was a real scorcher. Our customers’ hardens are looking really dry! Why not check out United Utilities’ tips on how to save water outside in the garden as well as inside your house. https://www.unitedutilities.com/help-and-support/save-water/water-saving-tips/

Hands on recycling

As you know the team at Hands on recycling love a crafty way to recycle everyday items. We really love these items made out of the end of silver spoons; such a clever idea! Do you have any ideas?

The team at Hands on recycling have recently been working with several local school in West Lancashire to do some recycling presentations. If you work at a local school and would like to discuss our recycling services why not give the team a call.
