Why is health and social care a good choice?
Working in health and social care at the Brothers of Charity Services in England will give you the chance to make an important contribution to people’s lives, when they need it most. You’ll be helping vulnerable people with specific needs such as adults with learning disabilities, in their everyday life.
This type of care can include anything from helping people get dressed to transporting them to and from their home or taking them shopping. You’ll develop the knowledge and skills to deliver an excellent standard of care, create a safe, healthy environment for those you care for and deal with personal information appropriately.
During your Apprenticeship you’ll develop skills that are valuable to the people supported by the Brothers of Charity Services and we will continue to invest in you throughout your employee journey.
Your daily activities could include:
- caring for and supporting individuals at their place of
residence - organising social activities
- prompting medication
- assessing and monitoring individual’s needs
- working to care plans set by senior care workers
What will you learn?
The Brothers of Charity Services’ (RQF) Level 2 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship usually takes 12 months to complete. It’s made up of theory (knowledge) and practical skills to demonstrate your understanding and competence in the workplace.
Your Apprenticeship will provide you with a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) your level 2 qualification is built from a selection of mandatory and optional units. We’ll help you put together the right combination to fit your job role and the way you want to develop your career.
What hours will you work?
The hours and days you work will depend on your role and rota. A driving licence may be needed for some services.
What could you earn?
During an Apprenticeship you’ll be paid at least the current national apprenticeship rate, following which, your salary will increase to at least the national minimum wage or national living wage rate dependant on age.
We also support existing employees to gain qualifications via the apprenticeship route which can include Health & Social Care qualifications, Business Administration qualifications and higher level qualifications (foundation and degree level apprenticeships)
