The staff team in the Greater Manchester area is currently supporting a new client who was in prison for many years. The team is helping him to integrate back into the mainstream community and be able to adapt to ‘normal life’.
The team have gone the extra mile to support him to get all of the benefits that he is entitled to as he has very little since leaving prison. They are currently trying to get him a grant to buy basic electrical household items such as a microwave and vacuum cleaner so he can adapt to a normal life, as he currently only has a kettle, toaster and fridge freezer.
The staff team are also going over and beyond to help him to become familiarised with the area that he is living in. The team have joint him on walks around the local area and have helped him to use local community facilities such as supermarkets, barbers, the library, town centre and town hall.
