New Services in Wigan

Update

For the past 18 months we have been working with families and commissioners in the Wigan area to provide a diverse range of supports to people with complex needs, including flexible day time support and outreach services.

To facilitate this development we have now opened a base in the heart of Wigan town centre from which services in West Lancashire and Wigan will now be provided.

The base, which enjoyed its first official open day on the 20th of March, is fully equipped to support people with a range of complex needs and will be used as a drop-in facility to replicate the model of specialist day support that has been so successful in Lancashire.

Sandra Walton, Head of Specialist Support for People with Complex Healthcare Needs, says: “We had a great reception at the open day last week and some really positive feedback from those who attended. The supports that we offer will be different depending on the needs of the person and we’re looking forward to hopefully bringing some fantastic outcomes to the people we support in Wigan. I’d also like to say a massive thank you to all the people who worked so hard and gave up their free time to get the new base up and running ¬ your support has been invaluable.”
