The Brothers of Charity Services Receives Gold Award for Investing in People

The Brothers of Charity Services in England is pleased to formally confirm that a recent external assessment on behalf of Investors in People (IiP) demonstrated that the Brothers of Charity Services in England successfully achieved Gold accreditation, against the 6th Generation Investors in People Standard.

We now continue to form the top 3% of all the companies awarded Investors in People status by achieving the Gold standard.

The attainment of the joint Gold IiP Accreditation marks the achievement of a significant strategic milestone in the journey of the Brothers of Charity Services in England over the last ten years.  This is reflecting the commitment to a united and non-discriminatory approach to the development, wellbeing and support of all staff colleagues at all levels across the Brothers of Charity Services in Lancashire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester.

Achieving the Investors in People Award at Gold Standard marks the success of the joint efforts across all areas of the Brothers of Charity Services. This aims to ensure that the quality of our care and support continues to be at the very forefront of all our efforts.

The prestigious accreditation provides a best practice people management standard. Offering external and objective accreditation to organisations that adhere to the Investors in People framework. Investors in People is owned by the UK government. It is managed nationally by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills and supported by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS).

The Gold Standard achievement resulted from an accurate independent assessment on a wide range of 900 varied measurements ranging from strategy to leadership and communication, from reward and recognition to development and employee engagement.

The IiP Gold outcomes are based on the first-hand accounts of staff evidence and commentary. In terms of corporate governance and organisational performance, it provides a clear benchmark against the very best performing peer group organisations in the United Kingdom. This is ensuring that all people remain, and are fully recognised as the heart of an organisation, regardless of job role, gender, nationality or religious background.

Strengths highlighted by Investors in People report include:

  • – Person-centred care for employees as well as for service users
  • – Deep understanding of culture change and how to bring people along
  • – Most middle managers in place have transformed their contribution. Development and restructuring are constants to continually improve management performance through feedback from employees.
