The Brothers of Charity Services has recently launched Selection BOCs; its a new and exciting Social Enterprise based in the heart of Chorley.
The enterprise will soon have a variety of ‘clubs’ based in the units on Friday Street, each having a separate theme on each day of the week. Tuesdays sees Selection BOCs hosting a cutting edge digital music recording and sound engineering suite (MUSIC BOCs) that is proving to be extremely popular indeed. This is what some of the regular members, that have been attending MUSIC BOCs, had to say about the brand new enterprise:
LH: We’re here to make music. I love music and this gives me the chance to try out new ideas!
DT: I come here because I enjoy the friendship, the chance to sing and record and can have a brew whenever I want! It’s just like being at home really, so welcoming, but I have all the cool stuff to use here too. Anyone with a passion for music should come here!
NA: This is a way of getting the creative juices flowing.
Each member of the group is currently working on their individual tracks that they will record to CD which will make wonderful Christmas gifts for their respective friends and family. Future projects will include going out into the community to record ‘sounds’ which can be re-engineered and incorporated into their next soundscape masterpiece!
Coming very soon to Selection BOCs will be Art BOCs which will offer people the opportunity to design and fabricate their own pieces of art and craft but will also include elements of costume design, architectural design and installation art… Exciting times!
