The Brothers of Charity Services in Lancashire have various Social Enterprises for adults with learning disabilities; these services are designed to support people and to develop skills with confidence in a supportive working environment whilst offering services into the local community.
The Social Enterprises carryout lots of great, fun activities for the people we support and the local communities to get involved with. Here you will be able to find out what each of the Social Enterprises have been up to this week.
Crafty Uniforms
As spring is just around the corner, to celebrate the change of seasons (and hopefully a change of weather), the team at Crafty Uniforms helped people to make some beautiful flower pictures during their free craft session at Chorley Mencap last week. The weather may have been slowing some people down but nothing is stopping the team, they have been as busy as ever! Sorting through next seasons uniforms; organising them into size and colour. What an excellent selection of summer dresses they have all ready for when the weather starts to brighten up.
Crafty Uniforms make some fabulous displays to show off seasonal events. Here is there window display for Mother’s Day, doesn’t it look great! If you are looking to give your mum an extra special Mother’s Day card this year? Why not make your own! Hands on Gardening

The Walled Garden
The Walled Garden team took part in the launch of Penwortham in Bloom on 8th March 2018. They were happy to help anyone who had any gardening questions they needed answering. The launch was a chance for people to find out about what Penwortham in Bloom did last year, find out more details of this year’s competition, gets tips from their gardening workshops and take advice from their Expert Panel!
The team at Walled Garden are recruiting an enthusiastic, positive and friendly individual to join their team in the beautiful historic kitchen garden in Worden Park, Leyland. As a visitor Assistant, you will be responsible for carrying out practical horticultural activities, maintaining the welfare and well-being of the animals in ‘Potting shed Pets’, growing plants from seed, propagate plants, maintaining plant borders as well as undertaking some basic DIY/woodworking duties.
