At the Brothers of Charity Services we offer a range of apprenticeships, which is a great career pathway and supportive environment to ‘earn whilst you learn’. We are very supportive employer and have a big focus on staff health and wellbeing, especially in such challenging times as we are in now.

The apprenticeship route has provided a fabulous opportunity to bring in a new talent and fresh perspective to our services by also to invest in our existing workforce.

Working in Health and Social care is extremely rewarding and the people we support are always at the heart of what we do. We want to ensure staff have all the right skills and attributes in order to provide an excellent standard of care. All staff have access to Health and Social Care qualifications delivered by the apprenticeship framework with a pathway up to at least level 5 in Leadership and Development.

As well as this we have a wide range of apprenticeships available in lots of different departments ranging from trades such as plumbing, plastering and Grounds Maintenance, to opportunities in Business Support such as HR, Learning and Development, Finance, Care Administration and Health and Safety.

How do we train our apprentices?

We working alongside our learners to make sure they find the right team for them. Many of our apprentices have gained permanent employment with us following on from their apprenticeship which is great! We have supported them as they work to more senior roles and undertaken higher qualifications for their continued development.

As a company we actively encourage and facilitate our staff to develop their learning and complete relevant qualifications for their roles. We provide plenty of excellent on and off the job training to provide them with the skills to succeed.

Is there progression available?

Plenty! Many of our apprentices have been kept on and have worked to progress to higher roles and have embarked on higher qualifications for their continued development.  Our Director of Operations joined us over 20 years ago on a Youth Training Scheme (YTS)!

Apprenticeships provide a great talent pipeline for our workforce. We consider the apprenticeship route a great way to invest in our people and the return on that investment is a highly skilled and positively engaged workforce. Learners gain their experience with us and we can ensure we support the development of their skills and they have the right values to be part of our team.

What are the benefits of apprenticeships at BOCS?

Here at The Brothers of Charity Services we promote a culture of positive support and mentorship across the services that benefits everyone. We are big believers that apprenticeships help improve our services and make sure we have most up to date skills to keep on delivering excellent services.
