Brothers of Charity Services celebrated a year’s achievements at St Joseph’s Social Club in Chorley last Friday evening.
Coming together in a celebration that recognised their commitment, hard work and dedication in achieving a range of academic and practical qualifications, support workers, volunteers and people supported were presented with a range of awards, from Social Care Diplomas and AQA Awards, to Volunteering Recognition and Long Service Achievements, by the organisation’s Regional Director of Services Heather Vickerman as well as the National Director of Services Darron Grundy.
As a large-scale local employer in Lancashire and the surrounding areas, The Brothers of Charity Services prides itself on having a strong commitment to the learning and development of staff, volunteers and people supported via a culture of ongoing training as well as reward and recognition which embraces their value and importance to the ongoing success and growth of the organisation.
Heather Vickerman, Regional Director of Services in Lancashire says; ‘events such as these are incredibly important in honouring the unique contribution that every staff member, volunteer and person supported makes, not only to the success of the organisation, but to the lives of others on a daily basis. We had a fantastic turnout at the event and I would personally like to thank all the people that attended and congratulate them in their continued ability in emulating the ethos and values for which the organisation is known’.
Philip Brown, HR Director supported this comment and went on to say, ‘as well as having their own achievements acknowledged, everyone took great delight in the success of all those in receipt of awards, giving a unique ‘party’ atmosphere, and making this a very successful and inclusive celebration’.
Awards on the evening included; Health and Social Care Diploma Awards, PTLLS Awards, ILM Level 3 Leadership and Management Awards, Volunteering Recognition, Long Service Awards for staff who have achieved 15, 20, 25 and 30 years of employment and Contribution to Service awards.
