Throughout January, Brothers of Charity Services in England supported Dry January.

Alcohol Concern’s campaign allows you to ditch the hangover, save a lot of money and feel healthier by giving up alcohol for 31 days.

Debt Awareness

With the start of a new year, why not take control of your finances throughout 2017.

Step Change, a debt awareness charity, offer a 7 day email programme called 7 Days, 7 Ways.

Each day for a week you will be sent an email linking to practical advice to help you with your finances. Written by expert debt advisers, the programme is the perfect starting point in dealing with your debt.

February Promotiom

This month we are promoting:

Dignity Action Day

Throughout February, Brothers of Charity Services are supporting Dignity Action Day.

We have already had Digni-tea Parties in Merseyside, Lancashire and Greater Manchester to support the cause. Click here to read more on our Digni-tea Parties across the Services.

Dignity Action Day gives everyone the opportunity to contribute to upholding people’s rights to dignity and provide a truly memorable day for people receiving care. Dignity Action Day aims to ensure people who use care services are treated as individuals and are given choice, control and a sense of purpose in their daily lives.

Next month we are promoting

National No Smoking Day

On Wednesday 8th March, Brothers of Charity Services will be taking part in National No Smoking Day and would like to encourage the staff that do smoke and are trying to quit, to take part in the day.

Their missions is to appeal to all smokers – whether their age, sex or social class. They want to publicise and explain the help that smokers can get when they want to stop.

If you would like further information on National No Smoking Day, click here.

National Apprentice Week

Brothers of Charity Services have a lot of apprentices working in both Support Work and Business Admin. To celebrate this, we are going to promote National Apprenticeship Week throughout the services.

Our apprentices will be given the opportunity to work in a different area of the service, giving them a wider perspective on what the Brothers of Charity Services do.

Click here for more information on National Apprenticeship Week 2017.

Red Nose Day

Red Nose Day is a UK-wide fundraising event organised by Comic Relief every two years. On Red Nose Day everyone is encouraged to cast inhibitions aside, put on a Red Nose and fund-raise!

For Red Nose Day, Brothers of Charity Services are holding a 5-a-Side Football Tournament at both Thingwall Hall and Lisieux Hall. The winners of these tournaments will go on to play a cup final at the Annual Heritage Day. For more information, click here.

We will be doing a lot more to fundraising events for Red Nose Day across the services!

Down Syndrome Awareness Day

Every year the voice of people with Down Syndrome, and those who live and work with them, grows louder!

Down Syndrome International encourages our friends all over the world to choose your own activities and events to help raise awareness of what Down syndrome is, what it means to have Down syndrome, and how people with Down syndrome play a vital role in our lives and communities. This day falls on the 21st March every year!

Brothers of Charity Services will be supporting this day by getting involved in ‘Lots of Socks’. To get involved with this you can wear brightly coloured socks, odd socks, long socks, printed socks, 1 sock or even 3 socks for 3 Chromosomes!
