Last month we promoted:

Dignity Action Day

Throughout February, the Brothers of Charity Services supported Dignity Action Day.

We held had Digni-tea Parties in Merseyside, Lancashire and Greater Manchester to support the cause. Click here to find out more about our Digni-tea Parties.

Dignity Action Day gives everyone the opportunity to contribute to upholding people’s rights to dignity and provide a truly memorable day for people receiving care. Dignity Action Day aims to ensure people who use care services are treated as individuals and are given choice, control and a sense of purpose in their daily lives.

This month we are promoting:

National No Smoking Day

On Wednesday 8th March, Brothers of Charity Services took part in National No Smoking Day and encouraged staff who do smoke to take part in the day.

The mission of National No Smoking Day is to appeal to all smokers; whatever their age, sex or social class. They want to publicise and explain the help that smokers can get when they want to stop.

Find out more here.

National Apprentice Week

Brothers of Charity Services have a lot of apprentices working in both Support Work and Business Admin. To celebrate this, we are going to promote National Apprenticeship Week throughout the services.

Our apprentices will be given the opportunity to work in a different area of the service; giving them a wider perspective on what the Brothers of Charity Services do.

Red Nose Day

Brothers of Charity Services are holding a Health and Wellbeing Day on 24th March at Thingwall Hall and on 31st March at Lisieux Hall. We are holding this event for everyone from our services to come along and find out more about how to look after their health and wellbeing. Find out more here about our Health and Wellbeing Days.

Along-side our Health and Wellbeing Day we’re holding a 5-a-Side Football Tournament at both Thingwall Hall and at Lisieux Hall. The winners of these tournaments will go on to play a cup final at the Annual Heritage Day. We will be encouraging our players to wear red noses during the tournament! Click here for more information.

World Down Syndrome Awareness Day

Every year the voice of people with Down Syndrome, and those who live and work with them, grows louder!

Down Syndrome International encourages our friends all over the world to choose your own activities and events to help raise awareness of what Down syndrome is, what it means to have Down syndrome, and how people with Down syndrome play a vital role in our lives and communities. This day falls on the 21st March every year!

Brothers of Charity Services will be supporting this day by getting involved in ‘Lots of Socks’. To get involved with this you can wear brightly coloured socks, odd socks, long socks, printed socks, 1 sock or even 3 socks for 3 Chromosomes!
