April Promotion

World Autism Day

World Autism Awareness Day aims to put on a spotlight on the hurdles that people with autism- and other living with autism- face every day. This campaign is vital in improving autistic people’s lives and helping them become more integrated in society.

The organisation has published a report which suggests autistic people (of which there are around 700,00 in the UK) are still marginalised and isolated, despite people generally stating that they know what autism is.

May Promotion

As part of Health BOCS, the Brothers of Charity Services’ health and wellbeing programme, throughout May, we will be promoting Dementia Awareness Week.

Dementia Awareness Week

Dementia Awareness Week aims for people to take any action big or small to improve the lives of people affected dementia. In the UK, one person develops dementia every three minutes. Yet too many people living with dementia face the condition alone and are excluded from society.

Alzheimer’s Society is leading the movement for change. They are determined to create a dementia-friendly UK where people with dementia are included and supported to live their lives the way they want. But this can’t be achieved alone.

This is why the Dementia Awareness Week is asking everyone to come together and take small actions that will make a huge difference.
