Activities were held across the English Services for National Fitness Day, to promote new activities, healthy living and also increasing fitness.
Merseyside
The team in Merseyside organised ‘A Walk in the Park’, a wonderful sponsored walk around Sefton Park in Liverpool. Raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and the clients Christmas Party which is taking place on the 7th December 2017. Also promoting fitness and healthy living.
The walk took place on Saturday 23rd September and was enjoyed by everybody who took part. On their way around the Sefton Park course, the group also met Claire House Children’s Hospice’s Splash Dash. They were throwing powdered paint at people to raise awareness of the great work by Claire House.
Lancashire
In Lancashire, Charlotte’s Tandem helper, David came to Lisieux Hall demonstrate tandem bikes and trikes to the people we support and staff. The people who came along had lots of fun riding the tandem cycles around the Lisieux Hall site. As well as finding a new way to exercise. The Lisieux Hall site also was the perfect place for people practice and get used to a new bike. We look forward to Charlotte’s Tandems visiting again, demonstrating such a rewarding new experience to enable people to get out and about with family and friends.
Charlotte’s Tandems lends bikes to people with learning disabilities free of charge, to enable families to get out together and have fun. You can also find more information on their website here: http://www.charlottestandems.co.uk/
