New Specialist Support Service in Wigan

Update

We are delighted to announce the opening of the Brothers of Charity Services new specialist support service in the heart of Wigan Town Centre.

The service, which aims at supporting adults with complex needs, will provide individualised programmes of support delivered from the organisation’s new and fully accessible ‘drop-in’ centre, open between the hours of 7am and 10pm 7 days a week, designed to enable each person to remain healthy and happy, whilst getting out and about taking part in things that they enjoy.

Sandra Walton, Head of Specialist Healthcare at Brothers of Charity Services, says: ‘As a service we’re incredibly passionate about providing opportunities for people with complex needs and have a fantastic team, who are skilled and experienced in a range of supports such as PEG feeding, personal care, the use of postural and mobility equipment and various therapies including Hydrotherapy and Rebound therapy.

The supports that we offer will be different depending on the needs of the person and their main carers and offer an alternative to more traditional types of day service– it might be that we start the day supporting someone at their own home to get ready and then going from there to support people in their chosen activities, or sessions can start from our drop-in base in the afternoon or evening depending on what people want.’

If you or someone you know would like to find out more about this service, we’re having an open day on the 20th of March.
