The Grounds Maintenance team held the first of a series of spring/ summer plant sales at the Brothers of Charity Services’ Lisieux Hall site on the 15th and 16thApril and it proved to be a success.
All of the plants sold at the event were grown and nurtured in the Lisieux Hall Glass Houses and included a variety of plants that included Lavenders, Rhododendrons, gooseberries, red currants, blueberries, strawberries, contoneasters and hedging shrubs, all for £2 each.
The event, promoted on Facebook as well as local community facilities attracted over 100 people from as far away as Cheshire over the two days.
Feedback indicates that people who visited the event had heard about the event due to the ‘buzz’ on social media, including Facebook and Twitter.
Following this success, the garden team at Thingwall Hall in Broadgreen will be running a similar event, selling plants for £2 each on the Friday 6th and Saturday 7th May.
