The Brothers of Charity Services in Lancashire have various social enterprises for adults with learning disabilities; these services are designed to support people and to develop skills with confidence in a supportive working environment whilst offering services in the local community.

The social enterprises carryout lots of great, fun, activities for the people we support and the local communities to get involved with. Here you will be bale to find out what each of the Social Enterprises have been up to this week.

Roccoco

Throughout the summer months at Roccoco, they will be serving a Ploughman’s Lunch! It will be served with Branston Pickle, Pickled onions, a roll and butter, all for just £6.25. They are open weekdays from 9:30am to 3:30pm. Why not stop by and enjoy this delicious dish for lunch!

Crafty Uniforms

Crafty Uniforms have a great selection of threads and patterns for needle work or cross stitch from only 10p each! Why not visit the team on weekdays from 9am to 4pm to see their collection of arts and crafts materials.

To celebrate the big day of the Royal Wedding, crafty Uniforms showed their support by updating their window display. Great work from the team- congratulations Harry and Meghan!

The team at Crafty Uniforms also have pre-loved Mayfield school cardigans and sweatshirts in store! Pop in this week and see what else they have on offer.

Hands on Gardening

With all this beautiful weather it’s important to remember to water your plants! Rain water is a great option for this and better for your plants and the environment. Why not call the teams at Hands on Gardening on 07934 480 373, to discuss having some water butts fitted in your garden.

The team have had a busy couple of days in this lovely sunny weather. The weeds are certainly growing fast. Hands on Recycling 

The team at Hands on recycling have recently taken over the contract recycling recyclate for Cuerden Valley Cafe and Visitors centre. The team love visiting the site and its beautiful location. Click here to check out the link and find out more about the cafe.

I bet you didn’t know this but, your average pair of jeans includes an average of 8 recycled plastic bottles. There are so many items in the world that use recycled materials as part of their manufacturing process.

Heaton Street 

Th team at Heaton Street have provided a very useful spring gardening tip- at this time of year we see lots of people planting put their tender bedding plants. Please remember that there are still chances of ground frost so please protect any vulnerable plants you may have planted out!

Heaton Street have been bust planting up the borders at Baxi Uk this week. All of the plants have been produced at another one of our Social Enterprises The Walled Garden. They have been planted into the various bedding schemes at Baxi. Check back soon as we will be posting some photos of the finished schemes.
