The Brothers of Charity Services in Lancashire have various Social Enterprises for adults with learning disabilities; these services are designed to support people and to develop skills with confidence in a supportive working environment whilst offering services into the local community.
The Social Enterprises carryout lots of great, fun activities for the people we support and the local communities to get involved with. Here you will be able to find out what each of the Social Enterprises have been up to this week.
Hands on Gardening

Hands on Recycling
Last week the team at Hands on Recycling did a talk about recycling to the children at Broad Oak Primary School in Penwortham. It was a great event and everyone really enjoyed learning about the benefits of recycling in the community. Heaton Street
The team at Heaton Street have been very busy lately working on a project in partnership with South Ribble Borough Council and a local school. Keep checking back soon for more information about this. It’s certainly been a busy one!
Pets Corner
It wouldn’t be Easter at Pets Corner without the arrival of some new chicks! Thank you to Duke Street Nursery School for your kind donation. Why don’t you pop in to Pets Corner and say hello to their new arrivals; sure they would love to see everyone.
Crafty Uniforms
Here at Crafty Uniforms they have a variety of wood and glass beads in a range of sizes starting from 30p a bag. They also have a great offer on their small bags; 30p each or 3 for 75p! Don’t miss out!

The Walled Garden
The Walled Garden ran a children’s bug hotel workshop with South Ribble Council on 27th March at Age Concern, Lostock Hall. It was a huge success and everyone had a great day! They will be hosting another Bug Hotel Workshop on Tuesday 3rd April at Penwortham Community Centre.
On Wednesday 4th April The Walled Garden will deliver the Wooden Train Workshop, where children will put together wooden pieces to make a train. This will be held at Bamber Bridge Train Station. With the Easter Holidays approaching, these events are the perfect way to keep your children entertained. Make sure you come along!
