The summer months are always a busy period for the social enterprises this year has been no different. Our hardworking teams have been collecting large quantities of dry recyclables from many local schools and businesses on a weekly basis. Over the summer period we have diverted over 40 tonnes of paper and card away from landfill ready for it to be made into useable items again.
A typical day consists of around 15 to 20 collections. The rest of the day is spent processing and sorting the recyclate into its specific waste streams which are then stored in to large transport containers ready for collection. The teams cover the majority of Lancashire within the week, spending 5 days in South Ribble and 4 days in the West Lancashire area.
A number of schools we work with have kindly given the teams thank you gifts for their hard work and commitment shown throughout the previous year. The photo below shows James and Adam from the West Lancashire team with their thank you gift.
