This year the Walled Garden team took part in Southport Flower Show. They teamed up with ‘hft’, ‘Piccadilly Support Services’ and ‘Sow N Grow’ as part of the Greennet group. As the show’s theme was Brazil (no doubt because of the World Cup!) they looked at what types of plants grew in Brazil and designed a display using them.
The show was on August 14th until August 17th and a few days before the show was due to open the team went and helped set up the stands. They had a show garden and a sales stand so we had lots of plants to take and put in place!
On the Thursday the show opened and the team went to sell plants and talk to visitors about who The Walled Garden are and what they do. Imagine the delight when they discovered that they had won a Silver Gilt Medal! The certificate states ‘for displaying a diverse range of annuals and perennials to reflect the diversity of the people we support within the individual projects’
The team had a great day, everyone got the chance to have a walk around the show and have come back full of ideas.
