Over 60 people came to Voice for All’s Big Lunch to enjoy food, friendship and FUN on Monday 23rd June! It was fantastic to see so many people from different parts of the Service coming together with friends and family. There was such a variety of food on offer and just about enough for everyone.
A wonderful atmosphere was created with bunting, decorated tables and music. The sun was out and the weather was gorgeous! Everyone ate, drank and sat enjoying each other’s company both indoors and out.
Lizzie McClennan (VFA Chairperson) welcomed everyone on behalf of Voice for All and officially opened the event and declared the buffet ‘Open’.
Richard Cattley and Laura Farrington did a raffle and sold lots of tickets raising over £35 and the gentleman from Daleview were the highest bidders of the big cream cake which was home-made by Shawbrook Close. It finally went under the hammer for £10!
Clare Whittle (VFA Vice Chair) was also celebrating her birthday and Laura had made a wonderful birthday cake which was a lovely surprise for Clare. Everyone sang Happy Birthday (several times!) after which Clare took great delight in cutting the cake and sharing it with everyone.
Craig Gallagher did a fine job in being the official photographer for the afternoon!
All in all, it was a great afternoon with a great sense of belonging, great fun and a great opportunity to come together, sharing the three F’s of food, fun and friendship! Here’s to many more Big Lunches!
