The Brothers of Charity Services is an organisation whose vision is to provide a range of services to people with learning disabilities which support their individuality, choice, rights and aspirations.

This position is within our Day Service centres. These shifts wil be Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Is able to communicate effectively with people, including people using services, their families and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of the needs and rights of people with learning disabilities and an understanding of the issues people may face.
  • Have the ability to work in a person-centred way both on a 1 to 1 and also within a group.
  • A flexible approach to working hours

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Work with individuals to develop their interests, and identify the projects they would like to work on
  • Encourage a supportive environment where participation and creativity can be comfortably explored.
  • Be aware of individuals’ wellbeing and health needs, including correctly administering prescribed medication or following agreed protocol. Also to observe and respond to any changes in a person’s health or behaviour.
