Nathan and Glenys’ Story

Transitions Services: Meet Nathan

nathans storyWe support Nathan, who is a young adult with severe learning disabilities and associated complex needs, within our specialist day services. His mum Glenys tells their story.

“I started looking for adult support placements for a member of staff at his school recommended Brothers of Charity Services – Lancashire.

“During the transition stage, the team at Brothers of Charity Services worked closely with Nathan, myself, his social work team, children’s support provider and his school to find out as much as possible about him, right down to the finer details of his routine. They made regular visits to Nathan’s school and carried out shadowing sessions during this time.

“Brothers of Charity Services were a breath of fresh air throughout Nathan’s transition stage. They made sure we had all of the information that we needed, and that we were fully involved and informed along the way.

“Nathan has been supported by Brothers of CharityServices for 12 months now and he is a bright and happy young man who always has a smile on his face. When difficulties arise, the team at Brothers of Charity Services – Lancashire work with me to find the right solution. I am completely confident that this is the right support for Nathan.”
