Day Services

Complex Needs Day Services

The Brothers of Charity Services in Merseyside provides a range of day services for people with learning disabilities between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm Monday to Friday. The day services offer opportunities for people with a range of learning disabilities to develop new skills, take part in activities and hobbies, meet new people and join in with organised activities and events.

Differing from more traditional, building-based models of support, each person supported within our specialist day services is offered an individual programme designed to maximise their therapeutic, leisure and health and wellbeing-based achievements whilst ensuring the right level of community involvement for them. Support is provided in a small group setting or on a one to one basis depending on funding levels and includes a range of healthcare interventions where needed to ensure people remain healthy and happy whilst doing things they enjoy.

This service also includes the use of a fully equipped ‘drop-in’ base at the Brothers of Charity Services in Merseyside’s site at Thingwall Hall in Broadgreen, Liverpool, as well as the use of multi-sensory rooms, a health suite and hydrotherapy pool.

Day Opportunities

In addition we are also able to offer a varied day opportunities programme for adults with lower-level support needs, which includes facilitating access to an unlimited range of activities, both community-based and provided from our Thingwall Hall site as well as our drop-in base in Walton, at the Hetherlow Community Centre.
