On Thursday 15th June the Brothers of Charity Services in Merseyside and in Greater Manchester held a Cupcake Day to help raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Cupcake Day is a delicious day of fundraising for the Alzheimer’s Society. People across the UK unite together to bake, buy and enjoy cupcakes to help fight against dementia.

This year, the Brothers of Charity Services in Merseyside held two fabulous events in the Resource Centre. It was an extremely exciting day full of cupcake activities. To kick start the day, a ‘Decorate a Cupcake’ session was held during the morning in the canteen. The staff in the canteen provided a large selection of freshly baked cupcakes, colourful icing and decorations for everyone to get their hands on.

It was great to see people working together and enjoying themselves whilst creating some amazing designs on their cupcakes.

To carry on the Cupcake Day celebrations, everyone came together in the afternoon to have fun at an afternoon tea party. The group had a lovely time catching up with friends while tucking into some delightful cakes! They had lots of useful information from the Alzheimer’s Society which encouraged everyone to discuss Dementia.

Overall, our Merseyside Services managed to raise an impressive £70.50 to donate to the Alzheimer’s Society. Well done to everyone who was involved with the day!

The Brothers of Charity Services in Greater Manchester invited the people we support and staff to a Cupcake Day event at Ela Mill to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

There was a tasty spread of cakes laid out on the conference room table for attendees to enjoy! The group discussed the signs and symptoms, the kind of support that individuals may need and what everyone can do to raise awareness of dementia.

We will update you with the final amount raised from our Greater Manchester Services’ Cupcake Day once all monies have been counted.
