Brothers of Charity Services Merseyside awarded Broughton Hall School for Girl’s years 7, 8 and 9 sports team the £500 Youth Activity Grant which will enable them to purchase sports kits and other equipment for playing in competitions.
Broughton Hall School was nominated for the award by Mark Higham, Locality Manager in Liverpool, Mark’s relatives attend the school and participate in the football team.
The girl’s football teams won the Merseyside Cup under 14’s and the Merseyside Cup under 13’s (photographed with trophy above) as well as making it to the quarter final of the National Schools cup in April this year.
The students at Broughton Hall were delighted to be awarded the grant and are currently voting together on the kit that they wish to purchase. They have made the following comments:
“I am very thankful for the £500 that we got off Mark’s work – The Brothers of Charity. I am happy because now we will have a nice smart kit to play in and won’t need to wear our PE kit.” (Hannah Wilinski, year8)
“I think that it is really good that we got given the money for our new football kit. We are all very thankful for the money because it provides us with proper kit for winter days. We are now looking forward to picking our brand new kit for next season. Thank you.” (Amie D’Arcy, year 8)
“I would like to say thank you for your kind donation. It means a lot as we can now buy a brand new team kit for our team, and this means that we don’t have to wear our school PE kit and we will be warmer in the winter. Also, big thanks to Mark for entering us in to the competition. It means a lot.” (Abbie McKay, year 8)
The pupils are currently voting together on the kit that they wish to purchase.
