Care and Support is Changing for the Better

01/02/15 |

Update

From the 1st April 2015, care and support is changing to enable consistency across England.

Click here for an easy to read outline of how the changes will affect you.

What is changing?

The main changes to care and support will be:

a national level of care and support needs across all councils
councils having to work together to make sure you don’t have a gap in your care if you move to another area in England
more help for carers- find out more from your council and Carers Direct
deferred payment agreements extended to all of England (so you shouldn’t have to sell your home in your lifetime to pay for your care)
protection from unlimited care costs (‘cap on care costs’)
You could benefit from the changes if you:

receive care and support
support someone as a carer
are planning for future care and support
Visit www.gov.uk/careandsupport for more information about the changes.
