Working together to promote Dignity in care for Brothers of Charity Services in Merseyside.
Thingwall Resource Service in partnership with Hetherlow Community Centre came together for a delightful DigniTea and a tasty selection of chocolate biscuits. Tea was served in vintage china cups and a prize bingo ensured everyone’s attention. Before the festivities, Julie Humphreys and Alison O’Dea gave a brief talk about Dignity in Care. The seven defining characteristics were discussed and the importance of these in the delivery of services.
A “Dignitree” was displayed and individuals were asked to write a few words about what aspects of dignity is important to them. There was a great response and these were displayed on the tree. Overall the prize bingo took the limelight and there was lots of festivity as the lucky winners chose their prizes. Thanks to staff at the Resource Centre for donating their surplus Christmas gifts! Thanks also to our friends from Hetherlow who were warmly welcomed and really made the occasion worthwhile, there were lots of reunions and a great deal of laughing.
The BOC Services based at Thingwall Hall and at Hetherlow are keen to show that Dignity in Care is given top priority and wishes to thanks all those who helped arrange, took part and made the day a friendly, informative occasion.
