On Friday 19th June Imageink held their open day at the Hetherlow Centre.
The day was packed with activities with something for everyone to enjoy and take part in.
In the morning The Adult Learning Service taught a maths session using coins to add and subtract for when out shopping in the community. They also showed people how to prepare and grow your own herbs with rosemary using damp newspaper to help them grow. The florist did a demonstration on making flowers from tissue paper. They then showed people how to arrange them using a paper cup as a table decoration.
In the afternoon the Liverpool Food Team showed people how to make a healthy alternative, vegetarian couscous with feta cheese and everyone had a taste of it. There was also a chair based exercise session to get people moving. They used a colourful parachute which brought the group together and moving soft balls just to make it that little bit harder!
The men’s group came with their bric a brac stall selling old CD’s making a fantastic £15 towards this year’s Christmas party.
Finally yet again the generosity from Townsend Bakery in Walton donated free shortbread, cookies and flapjacks to go with a cup of tea!
The day was to offer a taster if what activities can be offered focusing on young people 19+ leaving school.
It wasn’t a fund raising day as such but Imageink still managed to raise £65.37 towards the Liverpool Sefton annual Christmas party this year, (including the £15 raised by the Men’s Group).
