On Friday 28th September the Brothers of Charity Services held their Macmillan Coffee Mornings for the people we support and members of staff,to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The events were a huge success, with our Lancashire services raising £88 and our Merseyside services raising an amazing £215.
Our Lancashire Coffee Morning was held in the Voice for All room at Lisieux Hall and was kindly organised by Daniel Hall. We would like to thank Roccoco, our social enterprise in Leyland, for their large donation of tasty cakes; they went down a treat.
Our Merseyside Coffee Morning was held in the Chapel at Thingwall Hall and was organised by our Thingwall Services. We had lots of donations of cakes to sell; some were even homemade by a very talented member of staff, Ann. She generously spent two days of her own time baking cakes especially for our coffee morning. In total Ann made around 50 cupcakes as well as mini cheesecakes, cinnamon rolls, short bread, biscuits and millionaire’s shortbread. We would also like to say a big thank you to Julie Riding and Christine Kinsey for all of their help and had work on the day.
Everybody thoroughly enjoyed meeting up with friends over a slice of cake and a cup of coffee. It was a great day for an even better cause!
