Over the last two years Project Art Works have travelled the country working with different companies to promote inclusivity and diversity for all. The artist-led organisation collaborates with people who have complex needs, their families, carers and the systems and services that impact on their lives.
The last project led by Project Art Works included the people we support who attend the Day Services in the Resource Centre. The group visited Delamere Forest as part of the project to learn more about the forest and the natural surroundings. Afterwards, our clients put their thoughts about their trip on large canvasses.
The art work produced by our clients will be part of an evolving installation at Tate Liverpool. Their work will be complimenting a film, ‘Illuminating the Wilderness’, which follows the investigation of a remote Scottish glen which reveals the pleasures and challenges of neurodiverse responses to nature and shared experience. The exhibition will be on at the Tate Liverpool from 4th to 28th April 2019. Find out more about it here.
The painting below was created for the exhibition by one of the people we support and is currently being displayed in the office at the Resource Centre at Thingwall Hall.
