Keen fundraiser Paul McKim has organised and carried out a sponsored swim in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Paul swam 1000 metres at the Thingwall Hall Swimming Pool, raising £153.50 on the 6th of October, he said:
“I wanted to raise money for Macmillan after I took part in the ‘Walk for Life’ with the Thingwall Hall Resource Centre. I really enjoy swimming, so decided to carry out a sponsored swim to raise even more money for Macmillan Cancer Support as I think it is a great charity.”
Paul presented a cheque to Lisa Wild, the Fundraising Manager for Liverpool, Wirral and the Isle of Man at Macmillan Cancer Support. Lisa said “We’re so grateful to Paul for recently completing a sponsored swim to raise funds for Macmillan. The money raised will help us continue providing the vital support and services to help improve the lives of people living with cancer.
“Macmillan provides medical, emotional, practical and financial support for people and their families affected by cancer and without the support from people like Paul we couldn’t continue the work we do in the community. We are extremely proud of Paul’s achievements and very grateful he decided to become part of Team Macmillan.”
