The Brothers of Charity Service’s Heritage Day

The Brothers of Charity Services held its annual Heritage Day on 28th June 2015 and it was a huge success!

Approximately 200-300 people came along to join in the fun-filled afternoon. There was a great atmosphere, and the theme of ‘each act of care is a ray of sunshine’ was truly apparent throughout the event.

Just as the opening speeches were made by Heather Vickerman, Darron Gurndy and Councillor Marion Low, the Mayor and Consort of Chorley, the sun began to shine and continued to beam throughout the afternoon.

The event was kicked off with a lovely opening dance, procession and presentation focusing on the theme of the event and that of the values of the organisation and its founder Peter Triest. Throughout the day there was fantastic live music provided by TABU, lots of stalls, games and entertainment for all the family. Delicious food was on offer to visitors, including burger vans, ice cream vans and cream teas.

It was a wonderful afternoon where friends, families and communities came together to celebrate and share good times. Lots of fun was clearly had by all and we couldn’t have wished for it to have gone any better.

To everyone who contributed to its success (and there are many) a massive thank you!

Here are some pictures from the day!
