Arek Duchnik, Senior Support Worker

For going the extra mile day in day out supporting a large staff team to undertake this vital role

Example of going the extra mile

Arek and his team support two clients to live at home. One tenant has very challenging health needs.

Have you ever heard the expression “it’s the little things that matter”? Going that extra mile is often simply doing the little things… and occasionally pulling out all the stops. Arek does this day in day out supporting a large staff team to undertake this vital role.

Arek goes over and above what’s expected in his role. He gives more even when he’s already given i.e. looking for alternative best practice ideas. Often out of kindness, he adds value to the tenants’ lives. He will go the extra mile when dealing with a difficult issue relating to the tenant.

Arek takes his role and responsibilities as key to his delivery of support to all around him. He is a listener, a positive role model, treats all around him with respect. Arek has a huge heart with an eye for detail. The service is better for having Arek as a role model.
