Toni Longley, Arek Duchnik, Claire Cortin, Paula McClymont and Julie Riding organised a fantastic family party at 5 Willow Close and they put in a lot of effort to make sure it was a success.
All clients participated in the planning of the party. They helped to decide what the theme would be and what food and drinks they would like. Staff supported clients to invite their families to the event.
At the party, the families were able to look at the memory books that had been created by the clients with support from Toni Longley, so that they could see what everyone had been enjoying.
By organising the party, it means that clients’ families were able to all come together as a group and they could get to know one another. This was hugely beneficial for all who attended as they refer to themselves as an extended family to those that we support.
Each and every person that attended the family party thoroughly enjoyed the day; they had a great time meeting everyone’s family members as well as spending time together as a group. All those who attended look forward to the next family party that we arrange; they have even asked for a sit down meal to enjoy!
